Recognized Louisiana craftsmen will teach children traditional folk arts, such as candle making, weaving, blacksmithing and other 19th century activities during the LSU Rural Life Museum’s annual Rural Life Apprentice Program, June 9 th through 13 th.

The Rural Life Apprentice Program is open to children 4th through 8th grades. A fee of $100 per child is charged for the week and advance registration is required. Apprentices attend from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm Monday through Friday. For more information, contact the museum office at (225) 765-2437.
