| | UBUNTU!
“Ubuntu” is a South African word that refers to the spirit of the community. It comes from a larger phrase that means “I am a person through other people”.
Through international programs and curriculum, LSU aspires to contribute to the concept of community, specifically, the global community. As a global citizen, our university has corporate responsibility to approach our mission in an international framework.
In its mission statement"... LSU is committed to use its extensive resources to solve economic, environmental and social challenges.” We know that these challenges are not limited to our state or our country.
In a spirit of global community and through international development LSU has the opportunity to create multi-national collaborations and partnerships to address today’s challenges with synergy and inventiveness.
It is within an educational framework that we can build mutual understanding and appreciation between the United States and other countries of the world. The Office of International Development optimizes and leverages all available resources to enhance international activities that promote those values. OID-THE LINK
