The LSU strength and conditioning facility, located in Tiger Stadium, was built in 1997 and features the latest in both strength training and cardiovascular training equipment. Measuring 10,000-square feet, LSU has one of the finest strength and conditioning facilities in the nation.
The North Stadium Weight room houses the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams, as well as the Softball, Gymnastics, Swimming and Diving, Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams. Under the direction of Tommy Moffitt, Melissa Moore (Director of the North Stadium Weight room) has just completed a large renovation. Updating the flooring to MONDO flooring and redesigning the layout of the weight room, Moore has provided the North Stadium Weight room with more floor space as well as a functional flow. The plan has allowed for the creation of a plyometric specific area which allows Moore to work on explosive power without weights. Along with the upgrade to the facility, it features Dynamax and First Place medicine balls, hurdles, plyometric boxes and assorted speed and agility equipment. The weight room also features 2 Woodway Treadmills, 4 Life Fitness stationary bikes, 2 Life Fitness Elliptical Cross Trainers, a Life Fitness Stepper as well as a Stairmaster Stepmill.
